The health and safety of workers at Alberta’s food processing plants continues to be monitored to ensure the safe operation of Alberta’s food supply chain.

Recovered cases make up more than half of Alberta’s cases of COVID-19 at 3,219. Fifty-seven new cases have been reported, bringing the total number to 5,893. Two more Albertans have died.

A $4.5-million investment in new virus detecting equipment and technology will help strengthen Alberta’s COVID-19 response.

As part of its relaunch strategy, the Alberta government has developed a plan to lift some restrictions on non-urgent surgeries and other regulated professional health services.

Alberta is modifying regulations to allow nurse practitioners to provide expanded care to nursing home residents during COVID-19.
