Minister of Municipal Affairs Ric McIver and Minister of Environment and Parks Jason Nixon issued the following statement on the risk of flooding in southern and central Alberta:
Although the province received significant rainfall and experienced some localized flooding, no major flooding has been reported.
With the wildfire situation in the province continuing to improve, Alberta’s daily situation reports will no longer be issued after today.

Evacuation orders remain as wildfire activity continues across Alberta. Cooler weather offers some relief as crews, aircraft and support from other regions respond.
Hot, dry conditions continue in most areas of the province resulting in numerous wildfires. Residents in affected areas are asked to continue to follow local media, local municipalities, and Alberta Emergency Alerts (emergency.alberta.ca) for updates
A break from the extreme heat has aided progress on containing wildfires this weekend but forecast rising temperatures will increase wildfire danger. Albertans are asked to continue to be diligent and follow all fire restrictions.
