Note to Editors: In response to questions from some media outlets about how much the Alberta government has spent on advertising and other costs for COVID-19 and vaccine promotion, the following updated information is available:

Alberta is among the first provinces and territories in Canada to provide access to the new cystic fibrosis drug Trikafta.

Albertans who have received two doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine are encouraged to register online for a chance to win the last $1-million prize in Alberta’s vaccine lottery.

More immunocompromised Albertans are now eligible for a third dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

Chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw issued the following statement on public health measures for youth sports and recreation:

Albertans will soon be able to have their COVID-19 vaccination records printed at local registry offices anywhere across the province.

Alberta’s mobile vaccination clinic will visit locations in Calgary and Edmonton Sept. 20-25 as post-secondary students return to class.

Fully vaccinated individuals or those with a recent negative privately paid COVID-19 test are now able to safely access participating businesses and events across the province.

Albertans will now have a simpler, more convenient way to get proof of their COVID-19 vaccination.

Daily vaccine doses nearly tripled on Sept. 16, as more than 3.1 million Albertans are now vaccinated with at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
